Tyson & Tyson
Loving Paws Adoption Center is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization located in the small town of Crocker Missouri. Since we opened in 2011, we have had hundreds of animal neglect and abuse cases come through our doors. We have laughed, cried, worked countless hours and poured our hearts into the animals that have crossed our path.
Our newest member to the shelter family is our little girl Tyson. She is a 3-month-old lab mix. A young man named Tyson found Tyson inside a bucket in a ditch. We named her in honor of him saving her life. She only had hair on her face, her skin taken over by mange. What made Tyson’s story even worse was the fact that she was covered in pellet holes from her neck, along her spine all the way to her rear end. We received this little puppy wrapped in towels, staring up at us begging for comfort. She instantly won the hearts of everyone at the shelter
Tyson’s journey has been a long one; receiving medication for infections, medicated baths and medication for mange, pellets working their way out, sores healing and much more. During her time at the shelter her spirit has never faded. Each morning Tyson meets us at her gate, tail wagging. She sits on her bed watching us put on gloves and protective gear, waiting for us to pet and love on her. After cleaning she knows it is time for her bath. Like the princess she is, she receives warm bubble baths to help sooth her. She is then returned to a comfortable bed with a stuffed animal to cuddle.
Tyson’s story is far from being over. She is still working on completing her mange treatment and growing her fur back. Each day she grows stronger and her puppy personality shines through. We are happy to announce that she has already found her fur-ever home. Once she is clear to go, she will be joining her new family with the young man who found her. Tyson & Tyson have spent the last few weeks bonding, where human Tyson has learned how to take care of dog Tyson’s needs and showering her with the love that she’s never had before.
Unfortunately, Tyson’s story is just 1 in a billon. For every adoption and success story there are 5 more needing our help. Though it feels like there is no catching up or the weight of everything is on your back, seeing the love and pure appreciation in an animal’s eyes makes it worth it in the end. We can’t change the world, but we can change that animal’s world forever.
