Narrated by Co-Founder Suuba Demby: 3rd year undergraduate at Harvard University

In December of 2019 when the Rhythm of the World Foundation travelled to the small village of Gerihun in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone in West Africa. The focus of the organization’s project were students of the Agricultural and Vocational Secondary School; students who were deeply impacted by the school closures caused by the 2014-2016 Ebola Outbreak in West Africa. Our organization’s goal was to find a way to support these students long-term by provided them with the necessary supplies to succeed academically both inside and outside of the classroom. In collaboration with local leadership and the Demby family, the Rhythm of the World Foundation successfully donated 480 school backpacks full of school supplies to every single student at the Agricultural and Vocational Secondary School. This video chronicles the voyage to Gerihun village, as well as scenes of students from the donation that took place on Christmas Day.
